Your strength is amazing, your self respect abundant. Your story so painful, yet powerful. Thank you for being you. The next generation safer and stronger because of you. Thank you for not being silent.

Unfortunately the length of the post will keep many from reading it, but for those that do, I hope they gain some knowledge and empathy towards others…especially those demographics that have been pushed to the margins of society and long forgotten. The Gabby Pettito case did ultimately bring some awareness to the issue of so many Indigenous women who have gone missing in Wyoming and in Indian Country in general, but it’s not enough. There needs to be a cause for the issue itself, not only because it gets tied to a white girl gone missing! Thanks for your bravery in speaking out, and prayers for your continued healing.

You are very much welcome EW4U, it was good to see your post, and also good to see an active Native on here. Wouldn’t it be great if Gabby truly brought about the kind of change you outline in your reply? That would truly be a blessing from a terrible event. It looks like they may have found her killers body today (from some early news reports I read this morning)….my concern will be that if this is true, it will end this sad chapter and bring closure for currently rapt America, and people will go back to being comfortable and blissfully ignorant on the violence against women of color and in particular indigenous women who suffer that ignorance to the greatest degree. I’m hoping your vision is the more accurate one! Also, I wanted to say thanks for the friend invite (Accepted). I’m only standard at the moment so can’t view profiles, answer e-mail or pm’s, or do much of anything on here….so thought I’d come back to your blog post to say thanks for the recognition and wish you good blessings as well, friend! ✌🏽 🙏🏽 Ravenous
