Starving for a "good conversation"

In the movie The Last Samurai, early on when Algren ( T. Cruise) is being questioned by Katsumoto (K. Watanabe), Katsumoto asks about his warrior past to which Algren replies "read a book". Katsumoto say " I would rather have a good conversation"!

Yeas,.. this is indeed a sex site and I'm all on board for that. But I'm starting to perceive as not much more than an internet glory hole.Grab your Bud Light and look for anonymous encounters in hopes of getting off.

I'll admit to being a bit snobbish. I concede I seek a bit of cerebral enticement as well as erotic. And that begins with a " good conversation",.. something very lacking here.

i.e,...4 lines into a greeting and it's Hey! I'm 17 inches cut and I'll give you the ride of your life" Really dude?
or Hi, hru?
I should be enticed by such compelling dialogue? Lordy!, not ever...

Had a dude write me recently:.. "Hi, how's it going. I'll be in (nearby town) tonight."
This was sent by a faceless profile with about 5 lines of profile read . Why would I give it a thought?

Wanna know how to engage a person in conversation? Read this, a very enlightening read.

Now if that faceless dude had said something more like:
" Hi,.. sorry to intrude, but (your excuse here).
I'm going to be in town near you this evening and I wonder if you could recommend a good place for drinks and food?"
There,.. now he's taken the curse off the unsolicited greeting by apologizing for intruding and followed up with a great line to further the dialogue. At that point I would be rude by not replying.

Good chat is like a ping pong game. An opening volley followed by an answering volley. And if you're good, it gets more interesting and fast.

I hope this bit of info helps a few conversationally challenged a better success..

Cary on!
