As the Blogland Turns: Episode 1 - The Fakers

I'be been scanning through different blogs tonight, hoping from here to there just basically sampling a little of everything and I came across a phenomena that seems to be popping up through the groups and the blogs. Fakers.

Personally I'm not bothered by these people that have nothing better to do than to create an alternate reality and alternate self in order to present themselves certain ways here. Why? Cause usually I can see right through them (note I did say usually... we're all human and we all get taken now and then) and don't bother wasting my time on thier pathetic attempts at attention whoring.

Then again I'm not sending anyone money either and I find that that is a HUGE red flag there if someone is propositioning money from people. I'm not a well off person. I'm not poor but I have been in the past and I know what it's like. If a person were truly poor then they wouldn't be on this site let alone being a paying member (or in one case I ran across having two paid profiles on here!)

If they were truly poor then they would be putting that money into food and housing. Basic living expenses. Bottom line is I don't expect anyone to be my sugar daddy and I'm always leary of those that want someone to take care of them financially. I have a word for those that refuse to work and expect others to take care of them:

Leeches

They suck you dry (and NOT in a good way mind you! LOL!) And heck if they are going to be so lazy as to not support themselves what makes a sane person think that they are going to be anything but lazy and selfish in bed? Honestly!

I do somewhat pity those tricked but at the same time have a hard time pitying them. Perhaps life experience has jaded me somewhat that I have lost some compassion for the average sob story. Maybe it's a built-in Bullshit detector. I'm not sure which. But ah well... they will do as I did years and years ago...live and learn.

Now when I speak of the Fakers I not so much talking about the people that change one or two small things (the date of thier birthday, the exact location that they are from, or any other personal data that could lead to real world stalking or abuse). Those folks are entitled to protect thier privacy. If you happen to meet up with someone in real life and you happen to give out too much personal info without knowing them well enough and they begin stalking you? Well there's a thing called a restraining order. Get one.

Maybe I'm a little paranoid but I value my privacy and until I know a person far better I will not give out info that could endanger me. If I ever meet someone it will be in a public place. There will be trusted people in my real life that will know the details and contact info in the event that I do not return. Don't be stupid folks. Don't allow yourself to be a victim. From scam artists to violent predators they are all out there. You have to be careful these days. Even someone you date for years can suddenly change on you, so why wouldn't you think that a stranger you've just met wouldn't also be able to?

To end this I just want to say to my lovely friends out there in Blogland to not worry so much about the Fakers. The more attention we give them the better they like it. Ignore them. When they have no more victims to skullfuck then they will grow bored and go away. Might take a while but don't let them get to you and get your knickers in a twist. To all the beautiful genuine people out there that use the anonymity here on FriendFinder-x to show a side of you that you keep hidden from the everyday and professional world, or just come here to let your hair down once in a while... keep your chin up and know that there are others out there just like you.

Just.....

.....don't give 'em any money! LOL!

It's a little late for that....lol

I took a girl that I had been friends with for a while, and re-examined EVERYTHING I knew about her. I realized that while she was a working woman and that she didn't like people paying for her, that she has become lazy since her surgery. I feel that she has gotten used to people wanting to do things for her.

Now I feel like I am running myself into the ground while trying to bail her out.

HUGS~~~MANDY

P.S. Thanks for the tip...although I'm about 3 months late reading it... ;p
