Vaccine Dating...Hopefully!

I'm glad I got fully vaccinated, but instead of being able trust others get theirs, now there is always that doubt in my mind that unmasked people in public have not. I'm hopeful dating will be easier, so that's one benefit. Unfortunately, I have seen hundreds more new profiles here and other sites where the members are female nurses. They probably have no free time meet people, and guys have been scared of meeting them. It's sad think the people who are keeping us alive are the loneliest people of .
As of this writing, June 5th, I don't think were at the point where things should go back normal. There are still too many questions. I'm hopeful that things will improve to the point where hospitalizations and deaths will become so low, we can start to end our fear once and for . Will nurses still want date? Probably not---they will have more time off and be able meet people again. That's a good thing.

A New Leader...Finally, Relief!

After the horrifying events of January 6th, I was reflecting on how I wasn't surprised...but I am surprised how many Trump supporters there still are, and how they can't articulate why; how they haven't seen through his lies by now; and how they can't understand he was never working for their well-being, he was only concerned about his power and holding onto it. Actually, work is not what he was doing, more like scheming...the main activity he engaged in was golfing.

No matter if you like Biden's policies or not, he is not trying to gain anything personally, which is what Trump's agenda was. No, our new leader is competent; serious about the job; is working for all people; and has a caring heart. He is not a deceiver or a divider, and will not lie and construct baseless conspiracy theories to distract or divert our attention from his devious machinations, to provide excuses for his failures.

For personally, it'll be comforting not to see more scandal or ignorant, evil words coming from the President! Not having to worry about what wool our commander-in-chief is trying to pull over our eyes will be a HUUUUGGGE RELIEF!

The Challenges of Healthy Single Living in Dangerous Times

If you're reading, no need explain the situation we are all in. Though i may be living all by myself, I'm not alone in trying stay healthy, active, and just plain alive! Recently I had strange unexplainable sharp jabs of pain in my upper abdomen, and though a trip the doctor revealed nothing except high levels of bad cholesterol, a few weeks of changing my daily routine seems to be helping.
For one thing, instead of staying in bed for most of the day, days on end, which I am sure we can all relate to, I started walking. Only a little over a mile each day, but enough to get my body in motion. I'm not staying in bed, either...because I was sitting in bed, I thought I was okay, but, no, actually upright and doing things around the house. There's always plenty of cleaning to do!
Getting excited about something and keeping my interests alive also seem to help..more on this later.

Happy Veteran's Day?

On this day, we remember fallen heroes. My mom's dad died during WWII and his absence during her & even younger sibling's childhood really messed them all up....my dad served during the Vietnam War/Berlin crisis in 1961-1962, and was fortunate enough not to see combat and it was before he got married and had a family. My uncle served in Vietnam in the mid to late sixties, was wounded several times, went on to become a colonel, but the whole experience really left him a bitter, angry alcoholic addicted to painkillers...a shell of his former self. He was once a fun-loving, joke telling, nice person...after seeing combat, I remember him freaking out when I had a bloody little cut on my hand...and he more than once broke my brand new GI Joe doll on purpose...I thought he became a total a**hole but in retrospect, he probably was really messed up by what he saw and had to do in the war.
So. even though I have been fortunate enough to not have to serve against my will, my whole family has forever been impacted, both directly and partially indirectly....and not always positively

It's difficult to enjoy Presidents Day, with the current one we have....not much to celebrate. I am looking forward to the day when I can once again be proud of our leader. Is it too early to try to do something about getting AL Gore to run?

To all the unattached people like me who are Catholic and know this is Ash Wednesday (and who can't eat candy because they gave it up for Lent)....hang in there!
