In the 365 days of a year a lot of things happen. Some good things. Some not so good. Some downright bad. Whether we've had a good year or a bad year depends on how we take and respond to the days as they unfold.
I've dealt with the worst of the things that happened this year already and choose to reflect on the rest of what happened instead. It was another good year for business. Some months better than others but all in the black. Two years in a row now. I'm on a streak!
Even better, I got a new grandson in June. He was a fussy one at first but he makes up for it now by being friendly and cute.
Sometimes it's the intangibles that make a year memorable. I think what tickled me most this year, what made me smile and think, "Ah, life is good!" is some conversations I had with my . It's getting to be that busy time of year. Lot's of family distractions this past week. And I've been busy getting the Christmas decorations up at the shop. I refuse to put them up before Thanksgiving. One holiday at a time. I don't have shoppers lined up at my shop door waiting for me to open on Black Friday. It's just as well. I want buyers, not shoppers! But it is starting to get busier. Deadlines are shorter this year and I'm ready with a lot of material in stock waiting to get turned into cash.

I should be thinking of turkey and pumpkin pies and good times around the table this morning but the weather has put different thoughts in my head. We're not going to be able to get out shopping for the big meal until someone goes out there and clears out the driveway! They were saying we could get up to a foot. Thankfully, they were wrong. It looks like just a couple of inches. So that's first thing I'm giving thanks for this year.
I hate working up a sweat when I shovel. Makes me feel like I have to take another shower when I'm done. But there's never time for that. Now, I'm ready to get to work certain I won't sweat...
Luckily, it's not that cold out there this morning. I already took the trash out to the curb. It's almost above freezing! So I won't need gloves and slippers.
