Female teacher arrested for 9 flings with student
Authorities say it's possible there may be more victims
A high school science teacher in North Carolina has been arrested and is facing charges of sexually assaulting a student nine times.
Shebana Rajput, 35, a biology and physical science instructor since August 2005 at Jones Senior High School in Trenton, N.C., resigned her position May 21 ‒ just two days before she was arrested in her home for alleged sexual conduct with a 17-year-old student, according to WNCT-TV.
Sheriff's officials say she had sexual relations with the in her home on nine separate occasions between March and May of this year.
Major Chris Hill of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office told reporters, "Consent is not a defense in this particular law so it doesn't make a difference whether the student consented or not the fact a teacher has sex with a student makes it unlawful."
Hill said it is possible that Rajput may have sexually assaulted more victims, and authorities are continuing the investigation.
Rajput has been charged with eight counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of sex offense with a student. She was being held in the Lenoir County Jail on $100,000 bail.
The victim's gender has not been released.

Been gone for a while because I was working a baseball tournament this past weekend and hence, I was on work probation from the warden with my fellow inmates. She was in NYC working the All Stars Game for MLB. Her supervisor was Bud Selig’s step . The warden was assisting the Hall of Famers there. She met many of them, helped, and escorted around Killebrew, Goose Gossage, Paul Molittor, Bob Feller, Rod Carew, Gary Carter, Hank Aaron, Ralph Kinder, Willie McCovey, Ernie Banks, Cal Ripken and some more Also met and talked a long with Roberto Clemente’s wife since both the warden and Mrs. Clemente are Puerto Rican.
So now you know why I married her in the first place….she’s Puerto Rican and loves baseball. But I knew that our marriage was doomed to fail …she’s a Yankees fan and I’m a Mets fan….mixed marriages usually do not work out…

Porn Tax Considered As Solution To Budget Shortfall

LOS ANGELES - California state lawmakers are considering an unusual idea to solve the state's huge budget shortfall: Tax pornography.
The idea was proposed by a state assemblyman, and would impose a 25 percent tax on the production and sales of pornographic videos -- the vast majority of which are made in southern California.
It is unknown, however, how seriously lawmakers will take the idea or how the porn business would deal with the new tax. It is likely, though, that porm-makers would simply pass the cost along to consumers by making pornographic materials more expensive.
However, many economists believe that pornography is an industry with inelastic demand -- meaning market conditions typically don't affect consumers' desire for the product. In other words, it is believed that most porn consumers would continue to buy regardless of how much it cost.
A potential economic downside to the tax proposal is that porn producers could leave California to manufacture and distribute videos in other states that don't impose the tax.

A nude maid cleaned up good at a Florida man's home.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says the maid stole more than $40,000 from a Cheval home despite not wearing any clothes.
The 50-year-old man hired the maid from the Internet on Friday to clean his suburban Tampa home.
Authorities say the woman arrived at the home in a one-piece, light colored dress. She took off the dress and cleaned the house for $100-per-hour.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Debbie Carter says the man told deputies he left the maid alone in the bedroom to clean.
When the man's wife came home from vacation, she discovered $40,000 in jewelry missing from their bedroom.
Police are investigating

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - A non-profit corporation has purchased a large number of the buildings where prostitutes pose in windows in Amsterdam’s Red Light District, the city said Thursday, in a deal that may lead to a third of the windows being shuttered.
The move is intended to break a logjam in an multi-year effort by the city to cut back on the windows, which it says are a magnet for crime and money laundering.
Mayor Job Cohen said the move was not intended to get rid of entirely, since it is part of the area’s history and a major tourist draw for the city.
“What we do want is to get rid of the underlying criminality,” Cohen told local television station AT5.
With its scantily clad prostitutes posing in brothel windows and coffee shops oozing the pungent aroma of cannabis smoke, the Red Light district’s seediness has always been part of its attraction.

Arlington mayor recalled in close vote

ARLINGTON, Ore. - The mayor of a small Oregon town who came under fire for racy pictures of her posted on the Internet was recalled in a close vote Monday.
According to the person who spearheaded the recall drive, Ron Miller, the vote was 142 in favor and 139 against the recall of Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist.
She came under fire after she posted photos of herself posed in lingerie on a fire truck on her MySpace page.
She told KATU News Tuesday that she had no regrets about posting the photo online, and she seemed to harbor no hard feelings about the recall.
"My reaction is that the democratic process took place, and that is a good process that we have in the United States, and it's fair," she said.
There are 366 registered voters in Arlington. Dozens of them held meetings and organized after the photo was publicized, and many participated in Monday night's recall vote.
But the voters weren't really just angry about the picture, some said.
Miller said the recall vote was also about some of her decisions as mayor of the small town, located along Interstate 84 between The Dalles and Pendleton in the Columbia River Gorge. That included her management of the city golf course, where she eliminated two positions during the fall and winter. That apparently did not sit well with some of the big golfers in town.
He said Gronquist will leave office immediately.
The Arlington City Council President will take over as mayor until a new mayor is selected.
As for Gronquist, she said she is selling a poster of herself on eBay. A portion of the proceeds, she said, will go to the Arlington city ambulance company.

But the ones that lay flat and motionless -- even if meant getting dragged about by a female that had latched onto the victuals -- wound up in a much better position, as it were, to engage in sexual activity.
The hapless males that tried the direct approach wound up keeping the free meal but not getting what they were really after.
Males that played dead were also allowed to copulate longer than males that did not, ensuring more eggs could fertilized, the researchers reported.
Playing dead is a well-known defence mechanism in nature, but this is apparently the first time such behaviour has been observed as a strategy for obtaining sexual favours
