Bad Girls 6: Ridin' Into Town Review

Directed by Paul Norman. Released by Vivid Video in 1995.

This is the first installment of the series not to involve law enforcement. A group of bikers (played by Jeanna Fine, Celeste, Sindee Coxx, and Melissa Monet) rides into a small old west town with Kelly (played by Yvonne), Jeanna's "bitch." After provoking a group of men outside a local saloon, the men kidnap Kelly during the night. Upon realizing she has been abducted the following morning, Jeanna and Celeste ride back into town to get her back, only to find that Kelly is enjoying being manhandled by her captors. It's a relatively average story. Story Grade: C-

This production was shot on video. Medium Grade: C.

Location shoots were used throughout the entire movie. The jail from the previous installment was used during the final scenes and didn't match the exteriors that were used. Set Design Grade: B.

The sexual performances seemed to be much rougher and more "dirty talk" was used, especially during the first scene in which Melissa Monet, Celeste, and Sindee Coxx gangbang Yvonne while Jeanna Fine passively watches. No condoms were used in this movie. Sex Performance Grade: B.

Jeanna Fine led the cast in term of acting. Her reaction to the aforementioned gangbang scene seemed very real. The other characters didn't have much else to do in the plot. Celeste's turnaround in her willingness to help Jeanna was underdeveloped. Acting Grade: B-.

The girls appeared to be dressed like an authentic biker gang, replete with leather jackets and sunglasses. Yvonne's costume was in opposition to the gear worn by the other girls to show that she wasn't part of the gang. She might still have worn a jacket, though. Wardrobe Grade: B.

A spotlight could be seen having been moved during Bobby Vitale's exit from the prison. The jail cell was too brightly lit at times and didn't always match with other shots in that sequence. The scene with Bobby Vitale and Celeste outside the prison were also too brightly lit. More reliance should have been placed on natural lighting. Lighting Grade: C.

Wind was heard quite a bit in the scene with Sindee Coxx and Melissa Monet. Jeanna Fine's dialogue was nearly drown out by the other girls in the gangbang scene. Sound Grade: C.

Mr. Norman's directing in the previous installment was superior to that of this installment. The ending of this movie was rather anti-climatic given that Jeanna doesn't really think that Yvonne needs rescuing at the end. She merely states, "so this is it, huh?" in a rather disappointed fashion. Directing Grade: C+.

Using actual locations demonstrated a fair degree of effort to make the movie visually appealing. Having the girls actually ride motorcycles added to its authenticity. Artistic Merit Grade: B+.

Directed by Paul Norman. Released by Vivid Video in 1995.

This fifth installment of the Bad Girls series lacked a strong plot. Dyanna (played by Dyanna Lauren) is a new inmate at the prison. Almost immediately upon her arrival, inmate Yvonne (played by Jeanna Fine) takes a liking to her. Yvonne is planning a breakout and decides to take Dyanna along with her. There's a subplot involving a snitch that is completely irrelevant, since by removing it, nothing else in the overall storyline changes. Again, a good premise, but not a good execution. Story Grade: D.

Although this was shot on video, the quality looked better than that seen in previous installments. This would really have looked better had it been shot on film. Medium Grade: B-.

This movie appeared to have a much higher production value than the other installments of the series. It was shot at a real prison instead of a phony-looking set. All the scenes not shot inside the prison were shot outdoors. Set Design Grade: A-.

Sexual performances were energetic and fit into the context of the story for the most part. Dyanna's fantasy scene with Tom Byron was probably not necessary. Condoms were used in all scenes except the final scene with Kaitlyn Ashley, Melissa Monet, and Chaz Chase. Sexual Performances Grade: A-.

With the short scenes in which she appeared, Jeanna Fine did an excellent job. There should have been more plot-based scenes with her. Dyanna Lauren and Brittany Andrews probably had the most to do (along with the uncredited non-sex snitch role) and did not disappoint. They were above average. Acting Grade: B.

Prison uniforms finally were used in this installment. However, watches and jewelry were still worn. Also, although all the women looked beautiful, the make-up could have been a bit more understated. Wardrobe Grade: B-.

Lighting was used sparsely, giving the prison a dark look which seemed more in touch with reality. The light used during the scene with Brittany Andrews and T.T. Boy noticeably moved. The origin of the light source during the final outdoor night scene could have been established beforehand. Lighting Grade: B+.

Some of the dialogue in the final scene was hard to hear. There was a bit of background audio that was repeated in the prison scenes that was a tad distracting. All in all the score music seemed appropriate. Sound Grade: C+.

Given that the director also wrote the script, it is curious why Jeanna Fine and Dyanna Lauren were the only two inmates to escape. The others had themselves an orgy which was to serve as a punishment for the exposed snitch. However, the punishment made no sense unless the snitch hated lesbianism and forcing her to watch it would traumatize her for life. That didn't seem to be the case. Humiliating her by urinating on her would have made more sense. Directing Grade: B.

The overall look of this movie was a vast improvement from the previous installments of the series. There was a much greater sense of realism and the movie benefited from it. Artistic Merit Grade: A-.

Directed by Toni English. Released by Vivid Video in 1994.

A number of performers from previous Bad Girls movies appear in this installment, but they play different characters. Although Vince Vouyer plays the hired help in this movie, he drives the same flashy sports car in this movie as he did when he played the rock star in the previous movie. The lead actress in this installment is Kelly Jaye, but the story gets so watered down that it ends in medias res. She plays a sculptor who has been commissioned to sculpt a monument honoring the city's mayor, played by Randy West. The two have sex and when the mayor's wife (played by Bionca) finds out via a strange phone call, she decides to frame Kelly for stealing her jewelry. Not bad, but given that there is a subplot regarding Vince Vouyer's friend who is mistaken for an illegal immigrant that goes nowhere in addition to the main plot not being given an ending, this could have been executed much better. Story Grade: D-.

This feature was shot on video. Medium Grade: C.

A couple of the scenes were shot outdoors and a real house was used again, but the jail set was the same used in the previous installment and it still looked phony. Bonus point for keeping the Cocoa Puffs box in the shots. Set Design Grade: C+.

The sexual performances in this installment were fairly average. Unfortunately, many of these scenes tended to detract from the progression of the story, rather than propel it. Sexual Performance Grade: C-.

Given that the story was a mess, the acting subsequently suffered. Anthony Crane took on the non-sex role of the bumbling sheriff. His acting was probably the highlight and was less over-the-top than Jonathan Morgan in the previous movie. Acting Grade: C.

Once again, the sheriff wore a security officer uniform and a dildo miraculously showed up in a jail cell. The masseuse's (Sandi Beach) wardrobe was also not quite believable. Wardrobe Grade: D+.

The magenta and blue lights in the jail cell scenes were more distracting than stylistic. It simply did not fit the tone of the set. The outdoor scenes looked the best. Lighting Grade: C-.

Hearing crickets as background noise in the jail cell was distracting and probably not very realistic either. Score music that was chosen for certain scenes also didn't match the tone in which it was utilized. There were no perceivable audio problems. Sound Grade: C.

Anthony Crane had the last line of the movie when he returns with Kelly Jaye to the mayor's house saying, "We'll get to the bottom of this." Given that none of the previous installments continued into the next, I'm skeptical of that happening. The style of the opening credit sequence with each of the female characters giving sultry glances at the camera while behind bars with smoke enveloping them sets the wrong tone for the movie. Let me rephrase that. That is the tone that these movies should be taking. There is a bit of a bonus for attempting to stick to a coherent story. Directing Grade: D+.

There is some degree of artistic merit here, given the use of outdoor settings and real locations. The grade suffers for not spending much time on constructing real looking sets. Artistic Merit Grade: C.

Directed by Toni English. Released by Vivid Video in 1994.

Although Kaitlyn Ashley stars in this movie, her role is different than the one she played in the previous installment of the series which makes the box cover extremely misleading. She does not go to jail at all in this movie. Instead she plays a band manager for Vince Stone, a popular rock star played by Vince Vouyer. The story revolves around Vince needing to get away from L.A. and his subsequent arrest for speeding in a small town. Word rapidly spreads among the womenfolk that the heartthrob rock star is in the local jail and they all try to get into his cell to have their way with him. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn does what she can to get him out of jail and back to L.A. It's fairly simplistic, but it's a vast improvement over the stories of parts one and two. Story Grade: C.

This feature was shot on video. Medium Grade: C.

One real location was used in this production and there were more outdoor scenes that gave this movie a more realistic feel. A different jail set was used than that which appeared in the first two installments, but it was only slightly better. The sets still looked phony, like having a table lamp in the cell and having the judge's chambers in a regular house rather than the courthouse. The presence of an antique telephone with a modern era ring added a comedic touch. Set Design Grade: C+.

The sexual performances felt more energetic this time around. They also benefited from having some motivation behind them. However, with that being said, the sex scene with the sheriff (played by Jonathan Morgan) and the two fans (Melissa Monet and Tammi Ann) felt out of place considering it took place after the girls were released from jail. This scene could have been used as a seduction scene in an attempt to be allowed into Vince's cell. Sexual Performances Grade: B.

Jonathan Morgan's comedic talents are on full display as a bumpkin sheriff. Kaitlyn Ashley's performance wasn't too bad, except for her scene with the judge.Perhaps that scene needed stronger writing. Acting Grade: B-.

The biggest problem I had with wardrobe was the fact that the sheriff's uniform said "security officer." Vivid could have spent a little more to rent out an actual sheriff's costume. Given that this was a rural county jail cell, it made sense that prisoners would not be wearing jumpsuits. But where did that strap on come from in scene two? Come on. Wardrobe Grade: C-.

More natural lighting could have been used in the first scene to make it look better. There was blue light in scene two that didn't have a natural origin. Lighting Grade: C.

There was an issue with the microphone in the first scene as some of the dialogue was harder to hear. An inconsistent score was also distracting at times. What was consistent was some repeated background vocals that became irritating. Sound Grade: C-.

When the two fans are released from jail it is presumably night time, yet when they go outside in the scene that follows it is daytime. There did seem to be a sense of direction in this installment thanks to a stronger story. The comedic tone served this picture well, but overall it felt like a departure from the earlier movies of the series and probably should have been considered a separate entity. Directing Grade: C-.

By shooting outside and at a real location, this movie exhibited a higher production value. Set work could still have used vast improvements. Artistic Grade: C.

Directed by Toni English. Released by Vivid Video in 1994.

This presumably is the sequel to Bad Girls: Lockdown, yet no reference is made to the first movie. Debi Diamond returns as a jailbird and is joined by Lene Hefner (with whom she has some ongoing rivalry), Kaitlyn Ashley, and Isis Nile. The actresses' stage names are used as their character names. There is very little story and it is executed poorly. The bad blood between Lene and Debi is never really developed. Debi ruins Kaitlyn's conjugal visit, but nothing really comes of it. The shower scene could have been an excellent opportunity to get revenge on Debi, but it doesn't really work out that way. Toward the end we learn that Lene might get out on appeal, but it's never resolved. Instead, we just see Debi working in the prison yard. Story Grade: F.

This feature was shot on video, the quality of which was fairly average: Medium Grade: C.

The sets looked unrealistic and phony. Two of the shower heads in the shower scene didn't even work. The identification cards that Isis and Lene hold during processing at the beginning of the film set the tone for the entire production: cheap. Very slight bonus point for showing Suave shampoo. Set Design Grade: D.

The sexual performances were not that spectacular. It seemed like Kaitlyn Ashley was having the most fun. The shower scene had potential, but was poorly executed. Condoms were only worn during the Lene Hefner/Marc Wallice scene. Sexual Performances Grade: C-.

Because there was so little story, there wasn't much motivation for the acting performances and they subsequently suffered because of that. Debi Diamond can play anger well, but it was under utilized, Acting Grade: D.

Although the prisoners would probably wear jumpsuits in a real prison environment, the cut off shorts, tank top, and bandanna look worked. (The fake fingernails not so much. ) Wardrobe Grade: D+.

Sometimes lighting adjustments could be perceived during a scene. There seemed to be a lot of shadows which lowered the quality of the feature. The blue lighting in the shower scene didn't quite work. Lighting Grade: D+.

The music score during the shower scene was poorly chosen. It did not fit the tone of the scene. Music would stop and then not return until minutes later. The sound quality also was inconsistent throughout the movie. Sound Grade: D.

As a whole, this feature didn't live up to expectations. It seemed to struggle in all areas of production. Even editing was off. The wardrobe Lene wears when she leaves her cell to go outside changes in the following scene she has with Marc Wallice. Directing Grade: D.

Not much effort seemed to be put into this feature. Kaitlyn receiving a vibrator in a cake was perhaps the most ingenious aspect of the movie, but it would have been better had the vibrator been sent by Debi after she had drained Kaitlyn's conjugal visitor. It would have bolstered the evil nature of Debi's character and given Kaitlyn more motivation to hate her. Artistic Merit Grade: D+.

Directed by Toni English and released by Vivid Video in 1994. This series has nothing to do with the Bad Girls movies of the 1980's.

There is no story development whatsoever. The story is so flimsy that characters are never introduced, nor given names. The movie begins with Janine seducing Isis Nile in an apartment with Steve Drake and Sahara Sands on hand. While everyone is distracted by sexual antics, Janine begins pocketing valuables, thus revealing that she is a thief. Her black ball cap also plays into that fact. As she flees with the loot, she is stopped by a cop who appears out of nowhere. She is thrown in jail with the same clothes on next to Debi Diamond's cell. The two quickly get it on. Follow that with a jump to a guard (Brigitte Aime) having sex. Viewers only know that because her uniform has not yet fully come off. Then the breakout plot begins in the laundry room with Asia Carrera. Realizing they need a drill, Janine and Asia head to the doctor's office. Although it never shows them acquiring a drill (though Asia does get drilled--by Nick East), we then see that the trio have tunneled out of the jail into some barn. They immediately have sex to celebrate and are joined by Tony Tedeschi and Alex Sanders, fellow prisoners who have apparently been tipped off to the jailbreak. The next scene is of Asia and Tony Tedeschi sharing a bunk bed back in jail. The End. No logic whatsoever. Story Grade: F.

This movie was shot on video, and not very good quality video at that. Medium Grade: C.

The apartment scene was so fake that the reverse shot showed a plain black wall. The dividing wall between the two cells appeared to be a cheap piece of painted plywood. The scene with the guard sex was outside, but there was no indication of where it was taking place. It certainly didn't look like a prison yard. Set Design Grade: D.

Although there was a lot of vocalization to the sex scenes, none of them seemed particularly erotic as they seemed to be greatly exaggerated. The fake surroundings detracted from them. However, the girls all looked great. Sex Performances Grade: C-.

There was very little acting and the situations in which the characters found themselves was so unbelievable that even the greatest acting performances would probably not have saved this production. Acting Grade: D.

Not much thought was given to wardrobe. The prisoners were given no uniforms. They were allowed to wear jewelry and belts and any type of shoe. There was a helmet in the doctor's office with a flashlight attached to the top. And where did that vibrator come from? No realism whatsoever. Wardrobe Grade: F.

Lighting was harsh at times and at other times it made no sense. Clearly there was a blue light shining into the doctor's office. It may have been in attempt to stylize the look of the scene, but it ultimately failed, serving only as a distraction to what may have been the best sex scene in the movie. Lighting Grade: C-.

Sound quality was okay, although there were dropouts at times. The score music would stop and then would not return for some time later in the scene. The inconsistency seemed to have no reasoning behind it. Sound Grade: C-.

The buck stops with the director in any movie production and with this production it appears that it was only one buck that was spent. That's an exaggeration of course, given the actors were undoubtedly well-paid for a Vivid feature. Nevertheless, the lack of effort is appalling. Directing Grade: D.

That blue light shining into the doctor's office may have been an attempt at stylization, and the aerobatic sex work during the prison break scene showed ambition, but beyond that there appears to have been little artistic merit. Artistic Merit Grade: D+.

Bad Girls II (1983) Review

Directed by David I. Frazer, this movie was released by Cinetrex Distribution. It is available on DVD from VCX.

Although some of the characters from the original Bad Girls appear in this movie, they have mostly been recast. Chrissy is played by Jacqueline Lorians. Angie is played by Brooke Fields. Kate is played by Suzannah Britton. The character Bo does not return. Instead Danielle joins the girls, played by Debi Diamond in one of her earliest movies. Ron Jeremy returns as Slater, now a deputy sheriff. Very little reference is made to the first movie. In this installment, the girls return to the country for a nature photo shoot while driving the townsfolk wild, causing Sheriff Tiny (played by David Dukeham) to get on their case. While it's light on plot, it's heavy on comedy. Story Grade: B.

This movie was shot on film and presumably had a theatrical run, although video cassettes were beginning to enter the marketplace by this time. Medium Grade: A.

As with the first installment, many scenes were shot outdoors. According to IMDB, some sets were used in The Dukes of Hazzard TV show. The courtroom set was a bit sparse, even for a small wild west-like town. (Plus, the juxtaposition of the sheriff's station scene following it, lead one to believe that it was inside the sheriff's station, which didn't make much sense. Bonus points for including Coors and Miller High Life memorabilia and the Disney Cinderella movie showing at the town movie theatre. Set Design: A-.

The sex performances felt a bit shorter in this installment and didn't quite have the same level of eroticism as those in the first movie. However, the participants seemed to be engaged in what they were doing. The best two performances were Jacqueline Lorians and Ron Jeremy's scene and Debi Diamond and Herschel Savage's scene. This movie put much more into the exhibitionism theme, and again there was a few references to seducing male minors. Sex Performances Grade: B+.

The girls were much more into exhibitionism in this movie, perhaps being more free after their experiences from the first movie. There were more differing character traits between the characters in the first movie than in this installment. This was definitely a Ron Jeremy movie since he seemed to drive a lot of the action. He gets an A. David Dukeham did a good job as the bumbling sheriff. The reactions of some of the townsfolk seemed to be a little weak. It was as if none of them had seen beautiful women before. The girls could have had a bit more motivation to their actions. Acting Grade: B.

This time around, it seemed to be much clearer that all the girls were models, nude models in particular, so their wardrobe may have been fitting for modeling, but not necessarily roughing it in the wilderness for a weekend. In that respect, their should have been more wardrobe changes: what they were wearing during their outdoor photo shoots and driving the male townsfolk wild versus what they were wearing simply enjoying the wilderness. Wardrobe Grade: B.

There didn't seem to be any lighting issues in this production like there were in the first. Indoor scenes were appropriately lit and outdoor scenes looked great. Lighting Grade: A.

The sound quality was good throughout. However, the Bad Girls theme song didn't match what the band at the bar was playing on stage which was distracting. Sound Grade: B.

Although the tone of this picture was much more comedic, the plot could have been a bit stronger. Also, the girls should have been more ingenious to develop their own solution to escaping the sheriff's brand of justice rather than solely relying on Ron Jeremy's character. There also could have been a few more references to the first movie. Car crashes and chases were nice touches, perhaps in homage to The Dukes of Hazzard, Directing Grade: B+.

Destroying a set by driving through it with a car definitely shows a high degree of artistic merit. Artistic Merit Grade: A.

Bad Girls (1981) Review

Directed by David I. Frazer and Svetlana. This review is of the 82-minute version available on DVD from VCX.

This movie is about four girls who go on a camping trip only to be held captive by a BDSM group that has an estate tucked away in the forest. They manage to escape with the help of a member who has since been banished (played by Ron Jeremy) and a master that has turned rogue (played by Michael Snow). While the story's premise was fairly solid, it would have been stronger had the girls developed and executed a plan to escape, instead of those associated with their captors. Story Grade: B-.

This movie was shot on film and had a theatrical run, having been distributed by Cinetrex Distribution. Medium Grade: A.

Many of the scenes were outdoors. IMDB lists the Rocky Mountains of Colorado as a filming location. Indoor scenes appeared to be real locations rather than sets built on soundstages. Although dungeons are mentioned in the movie, they do not appear in this version of the film. (They may exist in the 91-minute director's cut version. Some scenes were cut to comply with various state and local obscenity laws.) Set Design Grade: A.

On the whole, the sexual performances were very erotic. Performers seemed to enjoy themselves. Sexual Performances Grade: A.

Some of the acting seemed to lack motivation and urgency. Ron Jeremy did a fine job as a boy scout troop leader. Interestingly enough, his threat of physical violence toward Chrissie (placed by Anna Ventura) remains in the movie. This is something that would most likely never make it into an x-rated film today. Having women seduce a 16-year old boy probably wouldn't cut it today either. Perhaps it would have been a cliche, but the handsome woodsman character (played by John Leslie) could have been utilized in the girls' escape sequence in some capacity. Richard Pacheco also did well portraying a British photographer. Acting Grade: B+.

Having Angie (played by Pia Snow) wear a bikini and heels while driving the camper didn't seem believable. Bo (played by Lenora Bruce) wearing spandex pants while hiking also wasn't quite right. However, it may have been realistic that they had such stylish outfits with them on a camping trip since Kate (played by Victoria Knoll) was a model and photographer. They may all have been models in the film, but that was never specifically stated. Wardrobe Grade: B.

Since many scenes were outdoors and the remaining indoor scenes appear to have been shot during the day, natural light was used to a great extent. The scenes with Lenora Bruce and John Leslie were clearly shot at different times, as the daylight didn't match in some shots, nor in the sequence of events within the story. At a couple of points in their sex scene, it was completely dark outside and a spotlight was seemingly shone on them. Lighting Grade: B.

The sound was clear throughout the film. Voices over the telephone were done correctly. The movie had its own theme song. Sound Grade: A.

The directing was good; however, the mismatched day/dusk scenes were noticeable and there were a number of scenes in which the boom or a shadow of the boom could be seen. The girls could have driven more of the action instead of solely being the recipients of the action. (This refers not to the sex, but to their capture and eventual escape.) A reference to the movie Deliverance remained in this cut. The mismatched day/dusk scenes could probably have been avoided. Directing Grade: B.

Given that this had a theatrical run, there is definitely a high degree of artistry to this picture. It would be great to see the director's cut version at some point to see what has been removed. As this movie is now over 30 years old, I imagine the content that was cut would probably be deemed as tame by today's standards anyway. The outdoor scenes were beautifully done. Although the story seemed to have concluded after Part II, there was yet another sequel made, once again directed by Fred J. Lincoln and released by Arrow Productions in 1992.

In this installment, Theresa (Cameo) returns to America from Italy, having presumably gone back with Giuseppe (Joey Silvera). However, Giuseppe does not return to America with her. Instead, she brings a cousin (played by Heather Hart). No explanation is given for Giuseppe's absence. Additionally, Cameo, on whose character the entire franchise is based, rarely appears. She has sex with a random guy at a strip club and rehires hitwoman Taylor Wane to whack a guy who looks like her dead ex-lover (played again by Marc Wallice). She first tries to discover if this new Marc Wallice character (a guard on the Genardi estate) is any relation to the opposing Spinelli family, but the results of that investigation are never revealed. Apparently, a new character (played by Jerry Butler) is a member of the rival family and is having a secret relationship with Theresa's cousin. To add a little more confusion to the works, Alicyn Sterling's character from Part I is now being played by Aja. This installment is a mess with little hope of it being straightened out by a Part IV. (And yes, there is a Part IV.) Story Grade: D-.

Like the first two movies, this installment was also shot on video. Medium Grade: C.

There were more outdoor scenes in this installment, which opened things up a bit. The set with Jerry Butler and Heather Hart looked a bit odd having green walls and pink curtains (or white curtains with a pink light behind them). The strip club scene was also quite small and had it been described in the dialogue as somewhat of a speakeasy, it may have been believable. Bonus points for keeping the Miller Lite memorabilia in the shots. Set Design Grade: B-.

The sexual performances were fairly average, although Taylor Wane's scenes were by far the most energetic. Her scene with Ron Jeremy was the better of her two sex scenes in terms of energy. There was too much reliance on slow motion in the sex scenes, which was distracting. Sexual Performances Grade: C+.

Given the weak storyline, there wasn't much motivation behind the acting. Still, Ron Jeremy and Jerry Butler did their best with what they had Taylor Wane wasn't too bad, either. Acting Grade: C+.

Wardrobe was fairly average in this production. Since Theresa's motivation for going to the strip club was never really explained, her choice to wear a bikini top there didn't make a lot of sense. Taylor Wane's wearing of knee-high boots with heels in bed didn't make much sense either. Wardrobe Grade: B+.

The lighting was again harsh at times. Skin seemed to turn bright pink in some scenes, especially the Jerry Butler/Heather Hart scene. The lighting during the final sex scene was seemingly more stylized than the others. Lighting Grade: C.

The sound quality was a little tinny again, but was not quite as noticeable. Sound Grade: C-.

Scenes were often transitioned with a computer-generated camera shutter image, which seemed out of place. The story also deviated away from the main character (Theresa) and there really wasn't much of a cliffhanger to draw viewers back to Part IV, other than to find out what's going to happen with the Jerry Butler/Heather Hart characters (who have just been introduced in this saga) and what happened to Giuseppe. Directing Grade: D-.

The use of reflections returned in this feature: during the Jerry Butler/Heather Hart scene and the Taylor Wane/Marc Wallice scene. The reflective surface of the water in the latter scene was also a nice touch. The lighting in that scene was also stylized, as previously mentioned, with red and blue backlighting at the top of the rock pile by the outdoor pool. The outdoor sex scene with Marc Wallice and Aja was also a nice touch. Artistic Merit Grade: C.

This feature was directed by Paul G. Vatelli and released by Caballero Control Corporation in 1985.

Nikki Charm plays a girl who goes off to college to expand her horizons, leaving behind her farmboy boyfriend, played by Kevin James. There is no real plot to this movie. Three guys (played by Tom Byron, Rick Savage, and Shone Taylor) videotape various sexual escapes, but to no consequence. Nikki Charm has sex with the dean (played by Jesse Eastern) for no apparent reason since she is excelling in her classes. Her farmboy boyfriend writes a letter saying he has begun to see someone else, so she has lesbian sex with Summer Rose's character. Everything seemed to lack real motivation. Story Grade: D-.

This movie was shot on video with a few inserts of film that were presumably stock footage. Medium Grade: C.

The outdoor scenes were the most authentic, from the farm life Nikki has at the onset of the movie to the campus scenes with the fountain. As much as the student social event posters tried to make it feel like an actual campus atmosphere, it didn't quite work. Two dorm rooms appeared to be the exact same room with different set dressing. The dean's office was labeled as the principal's office. The one classroom had posters of the periodic table, star charts, and a U.S. map, but was hosting an English class. Bonus points are given, however, for including placement of a Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket, Budweiser and Coca Cola cans, and a Rob Lowe St. Elmo's Fire poster. Plus, the Bozo The Clown poster was awesome. Set Design Grade: C+.

There didn't seem to be anything spectacular in the sexual performances. The scene with Mauvais Noir and Buck Adams seemed to be the most energetic. No condoms were used in this production (Condom use has no bearing on the grade.) Sex Performances Grade: C+.

Nikki Charm did a fine acting job in what limited story there was. One got the sense that she missed her boyfriend and was disappointed to her of him moving on. She also portrayed discomfort fairly well in the orgy scene. However, her scene with the dean was bizarre given the lack of motivation and she ended up breaking the fourth wall at the end of the movie. What little screen time Taija Rae had she put to good use. The rest of the acting was rather average. Acting Grade: C+.

The girls' make-up was perhaps a little overdone, but wardrobe seemed appropriate given it was the 1980's. Girls wore shoes in three of the scenes in which they didn't seem to be warranted. Wardrobe Grade: B-.

Lighting was pretty good . It didn't appear to be used in any stylistic fashion. Lighting Grade: B.

The sound was exceptionally poor. An echo effect pervaded the dialogue track throughout the entire movie. It may have been used effectively if only during those scenes in which Nikki's character narrated her diary. However, it became an annoyance rather quickly. Sound Grade: D-.

The budget on this production was probably exceptionally low, however, shots were centered and camera angles were appropriate. While entering snippets of film in between scenes may have been used to make the college location look more realistic, it made the rest of the movie look cheaper in comparison. Directing Grade: C-.

The premise of the movie was promising, but it's execution was lackluster. Some effort was made, but there could have been a lot more. Artistic Merit Grade: C.

But I'm With The Band Review

Directed by Brad Armstrong and released by Wicked Pictures in 2005, this Keri Sable movie's basic plot involves Keri trying to get backstage at a concert and doing everyone that gets in her way. It's pretty straightforward and basic as typical x-rated fare goes. Story Grade: C-.

This feature was shot on high definition HD video presenting excellent quality images. Medium Grade: B+.

Some scenes were shot on location at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, California, which heightened the production value. Set dressing included posters of various other Wicked movie boxes slightly modified and used as posters for the fictitious band in the story called The Wicked Ones. The concert scene itself was the weakest of the bunch as there just seemed to be too many speakers on stage and it didn't feel like a real concert setting. Given that Barrett Blade is a musician (he wrote a couple of the songs for the movie along with playing the lead singer), it would have been better if his band held an actual concert at the venue with a full audience (like the Blues Brothers at the Universal Amphitheater for example). Set Design Grade: B.

Most of the sex scenes were pretty good. Keri's fantasy scene with Barrett Blade was the weakest of the bunch. Her scene with Kris Slater wasn't that great either. (Condoms were used in this production. This has no bearing on the grade.) Sex Performances Grade: B.

Ms. Sable did a pretty fair job of carrying the movie, albeit a stronger story would have helped. Randy Spears did an excellent job with a British accent as the band's manager. There weren't too many scenes with straightforward acting unfortunately. Acting Grade: B.

Costumes were appropriate, although one wonders what Keri did with the outfit she initially wore to the concert along with her purse. Shoes were worn during sex scenes, but that would be expected given the circumstances in which the characters found themselves (except the fantasy scenes, I suppose). Wardrobe Grade: B+.

Scenes were lit appropriately, although the light gimmick used on the stationary limo was very transparent. Also, the onstage lights during the concert also didn't feel quite authentic. Lighting Grade: B.

Through various scenes, the ambient noise of a concert crowd was heard in the background, which was a nice touch. However, the concert scene featured extras who seemed rather unenthusiastic. Simply using the canned audience cheers and having extras lip-sync over it may have been better. Otherwise, sound was clear. Sound Grade: B+.

The movie progressed at a fair pace, but may have been improved with more story and shorter sex scenes. Had the budget been bigger, the concert scene (the heart of the movie) could have really been a centerpiece instead of lackluster. Directing Grade: B.

Definite effort was put into this production, from the use of unique camera angles to utilizing a real venue. Artistic Merit Grade: B.

This feature, starring Keri Sable and Kimberly Kane, was directed by Michael Raven and released by Wicked Pictures in 2005.

The premise of this movie revolves around alien abductions. Growing up in Desert City, California sisters Tanya (Keri Sable) and Jess (Kimberly Kane) experience feelings of being watched by shadows as they grow up and develop lapses in memory that they can't explain, what their doctors have described as "lost time." On the particular evening on which the story takes place, Tanya has gone out into the woods with a group of friends while Jess stays at home with her father, waiting for her significant other, Brad (played by Evan Stone), to return home from work. Deaths and abductions at the hands of "The Visitors" occur throughout the movie, which generates a sense of suspense; however, there is no sense of a resistance force trying to stop the aliens, which makes the story far less dramatic than it should have been. The local sheriff's office does some investigating, but it comes to no fruition. This was a good concept that could have had a better execution. Story Grade: B+.

This was shot and mastered on HD video and had excellent image quality. Medium Grade: B+.

Many scenes were shot outdoors. Those that weren't utilized real locations which gave an authentic look. Set Design Grade: A.

Sex performances were energetic and fit well within the context of the story. They also lasted for an appropriate amount of time. Condoms were used in this production. (Note: use of condoms has no bearing on the movie's grade.) Sex Performances Grade: A.

The acting was much better than average, although there is a lot of screaming in this movie. Of the sex performers, Kimberly Kane had the strongest acting talent here. The non-sex performers seemed to elevate the overall acting ability of the cast. Acting Grade: B+.

Costumes and make-up were appropriate and shoes remained on during sex when appropriate as well. Wardrobe Grade: A.

Although the lighting in the train car scene was unrealistic, it gave the scene a terrific look. Since the story took place at night, scenes felt like they were shot at night even if they were not. Lighting Grade: A.

Interestingly enough, the only sex scene with non-diegetic sound was the scene with Kimberly Kane and Evan Stone. While the chosen score sounded fine, I'm not sure why Mr. Raven decided to feature a score during that scene, but none of the others. Dialogue was clear and the aliens' language tracks also sounded sharp. Sound Grade: A.

A clear indication that this production was taken seriously was the use of crane shots. It gave this movie the feeling of a major motion picture. The claustrophobic shots of Kimberly Kane following the presumably handheld camera (and looking directly at it momentarily) was a bit jarring. The end scene which takes place the following morning (and also coincidentally features the director) felt a little hokey and tacked on and didn't seem to tie up the story. Directing Grade: B+.

The look and feel of this movie undoubtedly demonstrate a high degree of artistic merit. Artistic Merit Grade: A.

OVERALL GRADE: A-.
