Just Three Days

So I was once told by an older woman to just give a person 3 days. She was an older, wiser woman who was a very dear friend to me. Whenever she spoke I always listened. And I find this to be most accurate about most people and situations. She said you can get just about anything out of your system in just 3 days. Including people. So I kinda liked someone recently. And well it never progressed to more than anything but just talking as per the usual for most people. Which is fine if thats their comfort level. But I think such intentions shld be made clear from the getgo. As some people don't want to waste their time in those types of internet only relationships. I'm one who will be always be cordial to u online but ultimately I intend to meet people. In real life. I mean this is a social website right? But due to this misunderstanding lack of communication decreased and I gave it 3 days. No communication from either party for 3 days. And that tells me everything I need to know. If someone can go 3 days without talking to u then they never really wanted to talk to u to begin with. A person who really cares won't go 3 days without speaking to u. Alot can change in 3 days. And sometimes it really does.

Recently I was told I give up too easily. No. I'm sorry. I rarely give up on anything. Sometimes it is merely a test. Not for me as I know my worth and exactly what I bring to the table. But most people dispose of others once they get what they want or when circirmstances become challenging, I have to determine who is in it to win it and who is simply competing amongst others. Very few times in life I have ever had AND felt that immediate click/connection with people. That seriously freaks you out when it does happen. Sadly people have become so easily disposable these days, and when things have been said that do make sense but then at the same time don't. That's when I rely on your actions. Because actions show me who you are, what your true intentions are and exactly what you are made of. We can say all the right words but what happens when there is no actions to validate the words spoken? As I have gotten older, I have realized that I cannot trust words alone. Men and women will say things during our darkest hours with the truest of intentions but when it comes time to deliver on what they said, it's usually a huge let down. In our darkest days and hardest struggles, we truly do wish to rescued by but never are. So I did not give up. I had to see if you could and would prove your words. Appears you let false hope and false expectations succeed you. I appreciate the gesture of your words. But if I say I am going to do something for anyone, it is done or those words never are spoken by me. And I do expect the same from everyone. For I know well how it is to need. I know how it is to want. And too many times I have gone without. And I know all too what it is like to have absolutely no one in this world. So I always try to give. Always give what I can. Please understand I did not give up. If only you had delivered on any one of those 3 things that you said.

I wonder sometimes if it is people who are so disappointing or is it our expectations of that particular person. But I try to live by this, if you dont have any expectations of anyone then you can't really be disappointed. But still I find myself disappointed by certain people. Maybe I had hoped that those people would be more than what they turned out to be. So would that make the person disappointing or did I simply have an unconscious expectation of this person?
