Cherry Balsamic Pork Chops

It's what's for dinner!

Being the scary untalented cook that I am....

I have to say, stumbling upon Hello Fresh has been an amazing turn of events. A coworker had told me that he and his wife were giving it a try and I thought to myself...

Self! This sound like EXACTLY what you need!

Step by step recipe cards.... All the ingredients.... Just the perfect amount of food for 2 people!

I've had a hard time cooking for just the Spawn and I. Either she doesn't like what I'm cooking or I cook way too much and it sits in the fridge until I have to throw it out.

Such a waste....

And the grocery shopping.

I hate grocery shopping.

It's only been my first week but, so far, I'm impressed.

The Spawn and I are cooking dinner together now! And eating together in the DINING ROOM!

Plus, I'm eating foods like this...

Here's proof that the impossible can indeed, be... Possible!

Happy Sunday!

Oh, and... Let's all just kind of sweep that cutting board incident under the carpet. Nothing to see here....

Especially not that hot pad I accidentally caught on fire too.

Meals of that sort sound Sooo tempting when for two people 😉 Very little need for actual grocery shopping other than other necessities !! My only thing is being on Low Sodium Diet; I don't think those would be okay !! 🤠
This is all fresh food that you prepare yourself... So, the only sodium in there is the sodium you add yourself.

I can't eat prepared frozen food. I just wish they'd make more single serving cans.
This wasn't prepared / frozen. Everything for this meal came fresh.

Hello Fresh sounds like a great idea if you don't like grocery shopping.
It's perfect for me cause I do hate grocery shopping. Plus, everything is all measured out. I know I'll be using everything that comes in the kit and I don't have to measure anything. Now, if I do choose to recreate the recipe on my own, the measurements are all included on the recipe card.

Those home delivery / meal kit services can be great for those who are developing their skills in the kitchen. A former partner tried it and the results were quite edible, which was a departure from what typically came from her kitchen.
I'm definitely picking up some new skills. I don't really ever cook for anyone other than my kids, but who knows. Maybe one day...

I've never really been much of a pork chop person, but these were really good. I would definitely make them again.

Everything comes right to your door.... Easy peasy. Plus, if you want to try the recipe on your own, you get the recipe cards with all the steps and ingredients.

    Get a toaster oven
Using it [and] cooking for one or two can be a lot easier. I lean towards the stir-fry approach though . . . it takes one pans and 20 mins or the time to make rice. Preparing stir-fry meats makes it easy to balance vegies without over cooking or making too much. In a toaster oven you can bake/broil your tators, brocoli and chops all at once (for one:: two cops is crowded ). But you can fit a couple of thick, stuffed chops I have to shop for vegies only when I eat them, otherwise they go bad in the reefer before making it to the trash.

ps: a real toaster oven - they selling a lot of crap today - mines' like 20 yo - lol
I bought a toaster oven when I moved into this house... I absolutely LOVE it. It's one of the bigger ones that has an air fry function on it as well. You are right, so much easier to cook for one or two.

That's great! And the plus is that you're getting the kiddo to cook with you!! Pretty soon, she can do the cooking solo...for both of your sakes. Lol just kidding!
i look forward to a day when she can do the cooking solo.... LOL Might be a while, though. I watched her slice up a shallot yesterday. It was a long process.
