It Lives!

My main computer is "down" for a few days, so I dug up this old laptop which hasn't been powered up in at least 3 years. The software was so old it couldn't load up the FriendFinder-x website! And I couldn't update to a new browser... until I remembered the Opera browser. Which is what I was able to load and can now blog about. The graphics really stink on this old laptop. All the pics here are very grainy.

I have no "security" on this old thing. It's a Pentium 166 dinosaur currently running win95. I have Linux loaded, but no browser on that side. I should be OK for a while with my little NAT box. I'll probably scrub this whole thing and use the entire 2GB hard disk for a new linux image.

Actually, I'm planning to test if this little guy can be run as a LTSP thin next month, so I needed to see if it still worked.

I'm very impressed that Opera can run on this old thing. All the other browsers had higher minimum requirements.

It lives!
