Finding gay and bi friends
Living in a small town area it seems hard to find gay or bi people to meet and I think it would be great if there was a place to go and hang out and just be yourself. Here it seems people are afraid to meet others for fear they will be ousted and it is sad that they think that way. I have tried to get a gathering together for a BBQ and just posted a ad on CL for this up coming Sunday. I am sure I will get a few replies but for them to actually come is another story.
They seem to be all excited about it but when it comes down to the wire they do not show. I think it would be fun and nice to meet others and just be yourself for a few hours and who knows maybe make some new friends or possibly find a lover. But it's not about hooking up but it is about finding new friends that you could just be yourself around when hanging out together, no judgment just friends and fun.
I realize that these are small towns Warren, Clarendon, Sheffield, Corry and Kane area and Jamestown could also be in the mix and seems these towns are very closed minded and force people to live a double life myself included. Don't get me wrong the people in these towns are generally nice people but they judge others and cause others to not be themselves. I think it would be nice to be able to hang out with friends that share the same interest and do not judge.
Bigger towns have gay/bi clubs and bars where you can go and meet new friends but there is no place around here to do that which I think sucks and not in a good way. I know I would enjoy meeting new people that I knew were gay or bi even if just to be friends and hang out.
