I awoke this morning to the terrible news of Florida Marlins star pitcher Jose Fernandez had died in a boating accident and as I get ready to turn in as I watch the cowturds and bear cubs playing football, they announced that pro golfing legend Arnold Palmer has passed away. The story of Fernandez trying to flee Cuba as a several times before finally succeeding and then making it to the major league is amazing.
The story of Palmer is equally amazing. He transcended the sport of golf.
Jose and Arnie --- RIP!!

I made a mistake before looking at nydailynews.com website. As a person that lost many friends at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 (firefighters, police, port authority employees and people I worked with that were there), and and going to funerals for as many as I could. Tomorrow, Sept. 11 will be a very solemn day. I will cheer for the Giants in their game versus Dallas and Yankees versus Tampa, but the memories of those that I worked with, played softball with, had fun with them, fought fires with and bbq'gs with them and their families will not be out of my mind and thoughts. I will have a toast to all their memories.
When i looked at the website, I also saw that the nurse from the iconic VJ World War II picture (sailor kissing a nurse) passed away. She in herself was interesting. She was an immigrant for Austria in 1938 to flee the Nazi's. She was never to see her parents again not know what happened to them. May they greeting her in the afterlife.
If you have time just check out nydailynews.com for some of the stories of Sept. 11, 2001. I leave you with this link if it works. https://nydailynews.com watch?v=kT5gN04RRpk
