I haven't been this tired in quite some time. It's been like this all day. Close my eyes for 5 seconds and nearly doze off. I'll try to catch up on some sleep this weekend. Sleep in late tomorrow morning for sure. Now that it has cooled down here, it's been excellent sleeping weather. Hope it lasts all weekend.

In case you want to know what I look like on my webcam, here's a picture. As you can see, I don't do much. I'm normally reading something on the web or eating breakfast or dinner.

I have to admit I did moon the camera on a request. However, it would have been nice to see the lady who made the request. Maybe next time I can get her to flash me a boob. I will not be "stroking it" for any of the guys though.

I tend to get fatter after dinner. My gut really isn't that big... really. You should see me in the morning.

Definitely not "green" at the office.

It's summer and they have the air conditioning so cold that people wear jackets in the office. You'd think that they would turn the AC down a bit. It's a development environment, so we can wear shorts and sandals. Folks still wear the shorts and sandals, but bring a sweatshirt or jacket just for the office.
Nuts.

Reads like a detective story. Google for "securitymonkey" and "14787", grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy the stories. You'd better do this at home because I found myself killing too much time at work reading these. They're a little geeky, but I think everyone should be able to follow along.

Started the local IM and turned on the webcam. Earlier this evening, had some mixed viewers. Now it's all men. Kinda creeps me out a little. I wonder if anyone else has the same feelings. I'm not doing much, just have it pointed at my chest, not showing much. Getting comments like "wanna blo u", "bi?", "wanna f*** my ass?" etc... I can see why women can get a little ticked off at the men here. These are probably the same guys that tend to be "no-shows", all talk - no action. It's getting late so I'll head off to bed. Cam turning off in 5,4,3,2...

Thanks for your comments here. Sorry for not responding if you are expecting a response. I read all comments, which is easy because I get so few.

Some blogs are an open dialogue. I can respect that, and actually enjoy reading them. Mine is more "one way"... here's what I think, you can respond and I won't rebut. This way the guest gets the "last word".

One of my (many) bad habits is that I respond with a "mm hmm" (as in saying yes) or a "yup" when someone says "thank you" when I hold the door for them. Also, instead of saying a full "thank you", I normally give a "thanks" if someone holds the door for me. I've always considered the interaction so brief that my responses are brief. Also, the interaction is so short that a full "you're welcome" often ends up be spoken at the back of the other person as they walk away, not to their face, which puts the other person in a position of being rude (you normally don't walk away when being spoken to).
Now that I have young nephews and nieces, I'm thinking I need to give the full "thank you" and "you're welcome" responses, to reinforce proper social etiquette. But, it may be a good thing to do anyway.

20/20 & "Hell"

Interesting "article" on 20/20 last night about "Hell". The preacher (evangelist) who came to the determination that there is no such thing as "Hell" (in the afterlife) was interesting. And that the Bible was not written by "God", but by men... men with political or ulterior motives. He lost nearly his entire congregation over this, but is slowly rebuilding. One of his parishioners said something to the effect of "most people want to be told what to believe, not wanting to think for themselves". It's good to see someone question the dogma of the church. This is one man I'd like to meet, since he has put in the time to actually think about the nature of "God", and not just spew the party line.

I have to agree with the above mentioned parishioner's comment. I think most people have a "drive thru" spiritual experience. Attend on Sunday, and you're "good to go". The analogy of church and community/society is lost on many. To worship without pursuing the big "WHY" questions is just a cult. Holding the threat of Hell and the promise of Heaven over society is one of the biggest mind control games going. Yes, I'm rambling here, but I have problems with non-thinking parts of society. Especially when they lead to religious organizations pushing policies based on dogma.

According to the "old" height/weight tables I grew up with, my "optimal" weight should be around 160 to 165. Overweight would be over 185. I've been up around 185 and still wore 32 inch waist pants, but didn't think I was overweight. I was pretty solid, but not as beefy as some of my gym rat buddies. I unintentionally hit my "optimal" weight range this past winter and my blood pressure and pulse dropped quite dramatically, almost in the "long time runner" category (and I don't run anymore). Still wore the same pants though.

So here's my problem. Compared to most people, I'm skinny. Looking back to the 70's, I'd be slightly bigger than average. Excluding the folks who have a belly hanging over their belt, are people just getting bigger? My siblings and I are taller than our parents, and my parents taller than theirs. Is this trend continuing? At 6 foot, am I going to be considered short in 25 years?

Not that I can do anything about it. I'm still going to push myself to break into the 180's again, but I'll have to eat more. I never broke 190 and doubt I ever will. The local guys that are pretty huge are (heard this second hand) on the "juice". That's just plain cheating. But I have to admit, if I knew then what I know now, I would most likely be up another 10 today. Maybe that's all it is. I just didn't know what the hell I was doing in my 20's and 30's. But now, nearly all school sports have some sort of sports nutrition and weight training element. Which is a good thing, as long as they stay away from banned substances.

Finally back home again... after a long drive in the summer heat. Air conditioning is a great thing to have in a car. More manual labor on this trip. Spent most of one day "swabbin' decks", with a mild sunburn to show for it. Cleaned up some "adware" / "spyware" accompanied by some mild berating to NOT DOWNLOAD UNKNOWN SOFTWARE FROM THE INTERNET!!! Brought back a busted laptop to fix (if possible) and now I need to set up another one with (window$ on vmware) on linux. The latter should make it easier to deal with window$.

On the plus side... I only dropped 3 pounds this trip. For the next two weeks, I have a LICENSE TO EAT. But that starts tomorrow. Now I need SLEEP.

Did some traveling on the 4th. Highways were relatively clear, light traffic. But more cops than I expected. Must be looking for holiday speeders. Truckers were working, probably enjoying the light traffic as well. With so few vehicles, the single lane reductions on the highways went pretty smooth.

However, I'm starting to develop a prejudice against pickup truck drivers as being the worst drivers on the road. Aggressive, unaware of the traffic flow, SOBs. The big wheel truckers were really good yesterday compared to the pickups. And most of the minivans were hustling, which is good. I guess they were doing some long haul driving as well. Next worst, after pickups, were SUVs.
